About Anticavilla

MEXICAN COLONIAL STYLE WITH ITALIAN DESIGN

Anticavilla's architecture blends the majesty of a 17th century Mexican manor house with modernist, contemporary and minimalist contributions.

The renowned engineer Jesús Sánchez rescued quarries, beams, floors and columns, as well as the 17th century façade to build the original manor house. Decades later, Bernardo Gómez Pimienta was commissioned to build the modern areas of Anticavilla, in a dialogue with nature, art and the original construction.

ART AS INSPIRATION

The result of a dream and a family project that embodies the love for Mexico, Italy and its cultural richness, Anticavilla integrates art in its spaces through the reproduction of works by famous Italian painters that blend with natural environments, the light and colors of Cuernavaca.

Our hotel is also the setting for the works of internationally renowned artists who reside in Cuernavaca.

Cuernavaca has a warm and pleasant climate all year round. Its history dates back to pre-Hispanic times, being an important ceremonial center for the Mexicas. Currently, it has more than 41 museums dating back to colonial times, such as the Palacio de Cortés and the Museo de Arte Indígena.
